Window tinting training

By: Rick Appleson

This article focuses on the different window tinting training systems available.

According to experts, window films is a one billion dollar business, with 10,000 dealer/installers across the country. In general, the window tinting business can be divided into car, residences and commercial. Most start-ups focus on installing window tints on residences and commercial properties, because of the intense competition in the automotive sector.

Tinting windows is not an easy thing to do. Although it may seem like a fairly easy process and not a lot of money are required to get started, you need a lot of training and experience. At the end, your success in this field depends largely on the skills and techniques you have. Automotive window tinting has become one most profitable and rapidly growing segment of the aftermarket industry in America.

Window tinting is one of the most profitable niches in the auto aftermarket industry. You don't need expensive equipment to get started, just a roll of film and a few common tools of the trade. Window tint shops typically charge about $150 for a 4 door car, while if you do it yourself, you would need about $50.

You can save yourself a lot of money if you tint the windows by yourself, but requires for you to have a certain amount of 'know-how' and experience. That comes with special training and hours of tinting. So the real question is where can you receive good window tinting training?

Some people get window tint training at a work shop. But the problem with this option is that no car shop will just give its secrets and techniques always for you to just steal them and start your own business. That's why they require new employees to sign non-compete contracts. Such legal agreements prevent employees from opening their own shop in the next 2-5 years, depending on what's specified in the signed contract.

Another option is to attain special seminars, but tend to be quite costly with prices between $2,000 and $5,000 for only 1-2 weeks. They might be effective, but the price-quality ration is not exactly good. Fortunately, the Internet is changing all that for good with the possibility of online window tinting training.

This is the best method, because it allows you to study when you want, for as long as you want, without leaving the comfort of your home and the prices are extremely low. You just have to sign up online and you immediately be granted access to PDF documents, video files, manuals and e-books. Those programs are usually divided into three parts - starter, pro and advanced.

The window tinting business holds an opportunity for you! Window tinting can be learned right where you are, at your own pace, and can be done part-time for extra money while you slowly develop your skills until you are ready to take the "plunge" and open your own shop. If you already have car shop, then you can add this service and bring some additional revenue.
